EVENT INFO ABOUT GRBR
The Gold Rush Bike Rally is a phenomenal ride through Boulder County’s most scenic and historic gold mining past. Whether you choose the short or the long course, you’ll be treated to primitive roads, back county climbs, breathtaking (literally) views, and virtually every kind of trail and surface you can expect in the Rockies. You’ll pass by abandoned gold and silver mines, the quaint town of Gold Hill, and go down the steepest road in Colorado. The course takes you above 8,300 feet, so be ready if Mother Nature decides to throw in a summer hail storm. Once you’ve crossed the finish line, we’ll be waiting with cold beers, hot food, and lots of time for you to kick back, relax, and share your good times.
This is THE ride of the season for adventurous cyclists looking for an unforgettable day on their bikes.
- Choose the short course for 35 miles of gold mining history and plenty of climbing. You’ll experience a very long and steady climb as you ascend 5,000 feet to Gold Hill. It’s all down hill from there – hitting Lickskillet Rd, the Rowena Trail, and a descent you’ll never forget!
- Choose the long course if you’re after even more trails and a bit more of a suffer fest, the long course adds in 2 additional sections of the famous Switzerland Trail and takes you all the way to the Peak to Peak highway. With 51 miles and 6,500 feet of climbing, this course is not for the newbie.
